DITP This Week At The Parks!

One of the most interesting aspects of running a blog is seeing just how it morphs as time goes on.  We've only had Days In The Park up and running for a week or so (at full speed) and already we're getting some good feedback from people on what they want to see.  While when we originally started we definitely voted more for the "personal" aspect rather than this being an "informational" blog (there are so many of those out there that do it so much better than we will ever be able to), we've nonetheless heard back from a party or two that they'd like to see more of both here, as well.  We listen, and we acquiesce.  Without further ado:

This Week At The Parks!

Mickey's Halloween Party
For several years now, the Disneyland Resort has offered a special program during HalloweenTime.  This year, Mickey's Halloween Party has moved from its original home in California Adventure and is taking up residence in Disneyland Park.

From now until the end of October (beginning last Friday night), every Tuesday (from 6pm to 11pm) and Friday night (from 7pm to 12am), Disneyland is closed to the general public for this special program which includes:
  • Trick or Treating throughout the Park (at special treat stations)
  • Entertainment including music, a special fireworks showing starring one Jack Skellington, parades and more!
  • A special Meet 'n Greet with Disney Villains not typically seen during the regular year in the Park
Tickets for this event can be purchased in advance for $49 ($44 for annual passholders), or they can be purchased the day of the event for a slightly higher fee.

For more information, or to order your tickets, check out Disneyland's Halloween site.

ElecTRONica
California Adventure's GlowFest (taking place during the summer in conjunction with World of Color) is gone!  Enter ElecTRONica, an all new late-night festival intended to ramp up the anticipation for the December release of Disney's TRON: Legacy to a fever pitch.

As part of the festivities, ElecTRONica will include:
  • Lotsa lasers, music, dancing, food and beverage (both for the kiddies and the adults)
  • A replica of Flynn's Arcade, complete with games and high tech gadgetry
  • A special 3D sneak peek of TRON: Legacy in the building where MuppetVision 3D is usually housed
  • LASERMAN -- he defies explanation.  Must be seen to be believed (or so we hear)
ElecTRONica begins this Friday (October 8); be sure to check it out!
