The Tomorrowland Station - That's Where We Were!

It's Monday!  We're not really sure if you need us yelling that at you each and every week.  Odds are good that you already know it's Monday, and hopefully we're something that you look forward to, but we just can't help ourselves!  We always look forward to Mondays and posting up one of our "challenge" pictures, and we've had some really good responses to them the last few weeks, so if for no reason other than that, we're been looking forward to Monday rolling around again since last week's segment.

If you're not familiar with our "Magical Mystery Mondays" concept yet, each and every week we come across loads of spots around Disneyland Resort we think would make great picture opportunities, and each and every week we challenge you, our readers, to attempt to guess just where at The Resort we were when we took our pictures.  And it could be anywhere at the Disneyland Resort; either of the two Parks, the Downtown Disney District, or the wonderful Disney Hotels that are on property.  Some are easy, some are hard (and some are smack dab in the middle!), but we think it's a great way for us to get you involved and commenting on our blog, and people seem to enjoy doing it.  We hope that this week's stacks up and that everyone will enjoy it!

So, do you know where we are/were at the Disneyland Resort when we took this little beauty?

We really liked the way this one came out as we were doing our wanderings around Disneyland yesterday, so it seemed a natural to use in our segment today.  It shouldn't be too difficult to guess where we were when we took it; there are enough visual cues in the picture, and you guys are always too good at these, so let them (the guesses, that is) rip!

Well, the day is done!  We completely blew our previous record (whatever that was, it's gone) with both guesses and correct guesses given.  Talk about setting a record for our little blog!  Apparently our picture was far too easy, which is great, but it means that next week we're going to have to take a picture of a leaf or something to trip you up a little bit more.

This week's picture was taken inside Disneyland Park, in Tomorrowland, while on the Disneyland Railroad at the Tomorrowland Station, looking out towards the Autopia Attraction.

We're back on our regular schedule this week!  It's a novel concept, having our usual Monday segment actually on a Monday this week, but we're going to push ahead with it anyways.  Mondays are typically seen as the little brat of the week, which means that we enjoy starting out on a fun note and challenging you, our readers, to once again guess where at the Disneyland Resort we took this week's photo.  We took this picture quite some time ago, but thought it would make a good (and informative!) spot to challenge people with, even if it might not be as challenging as some.  So we had Mark do his best Vanna White and here we are!

Well, now that our day is done we're back to let everyone in on where our little spot we chose for this week's game was!

We came across yesterday's spot almost a year ago while we were inside the Disneyland Hotel to eat at Steakhouse 55, which by the way, is one fantastic meal!  The location is quite near the ballrooms inside the hotel, and can be located on the left wall as you are walking towards both the ballrooms, and Steakhouse 55 and Goofy's Kitchen (if you're going to eat there). 

We know that a lot of people have probably never even set foot inside the hotels if they're not staying there, but we absolutely love checking them out, and although we've never actually stayed at any of them ourselves, we've been inside them many times and there are tons of fantastic things to see, which was the point of this particular photo!  So if you've never spent any time inside the hotels yourselves, we urge you to give it a try; even if you're not staying there, you're more than welcome inside to peruse and explore (within reason), and you never now what you might come across!

We had loads of correct guesses yesterday!  In point of fact, almost everyone who took a shot at it was right!  Always fun, but it just means to have to ramp up the difficulty in the coming weeks.  Just kidding... Maybe...

Fowler's Landing - That's Where We Were!

Yes, yes, we know that it's Tuesday and not Monday today.  We're probably playing with fire and risking a disruption of the space time continuum that could destroy the entire universe (granted that's the worst-case scenario) by posting a Monday article on a day other than Mon, but we're just crazy enough to do it anyways!  Truth is, we were playing on another blog yesterday and just didn't have the time to get our usual Monday game done, but we enjoy doing them so much we wanted to make sure we got one out this week regardless.  We hope that everyone is okay with that!

Well, now that our day is done we're back to let everyone in on our little spot we chose for this week's game!


We came across yesterday's spot (again) while roaming Disneyland over the weekend, and thought it would make an excellent addition to our collection of Disneyland photos.  And what better way to introduce it to our readers than use it for our "Where Are We?" posts?  We had loads of guesses yesterday, and several correct ones to boot!  Not everyone was right, but with a little help and continuing to guess throughout the day, we had a good number, which always makes us smile.

This week's photo challenge spot can be found inside Disneyland Park, right near the borders of Frontierland, New Orleans Square, and Critter Country, and is located behind the Harbour Galley Restaurant at a little place called "Fowler's Landing".

Unfortunately, many people are completely unaware that this fantastic little area even exists!  But if you meander back through the tables at the restaurant and look to your left, you'll see the little "harbor" where "Fowler's Inn" is located, and our little signage right next to it.  It's a cute little place to hang out and is always quiet because not a lot of people know about it.  There are even some great places back there to sit and relax and eat in peace and quiet.  And when it's not being worked on, there's a little bridge back there as well that will carry you over from Frontierland and into Critter Country, crossing right over Splash Mountain's notorious drop.  We like to stand back there and yell random things at people as they pass by underneath in their rafts, because they can't see us!

Muppet*Vision 3D - That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we write a post, we like to play a little game.  We challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

Yesterday we offered up one of our favorites in recent weeks.  We stumbled across it while strolling around The Parks this past weekend, and thought it would make a pretty good challenge, as well as maybe producing a good chuckle.  We did have several guesses on our picture yesterday, and a few correct guesses at that.

This week's photo challenge spot can be found inside Disney California Adventure Park, in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, at the entrance (on the right as you go in) to the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction:

We've always enjoyed Muppet*Vision 3D very much as just an attraction, but no doubt one of the big draws is that there is just so much to see in the pre-show as well.  The lobby where you wait to enter the theater itself is just full of Muppet goodies (including a pre-movie show), and even the entrance into the lobby is full of goodies as well!  This particular sign sits at the window of a "security station" just inside the entrance where you get your 3D glasses.  We've seen the booth before, but never paid close attention to it, but for whatever reason this weekend we did.  And the rest is history!

Well, the Christmas holiday break is officially over now!  The kiddies are back in school and hitting the old grind today, which means that our break is over too and the old grind is back as well.  Although, for us, writing for a Disneyland blog isn't a grind at all!  It's tons of fun and we try to bring that in everything we write.  We hope that we're at least semi-successful!  But now that the regular routine is slowly but surely returning, we're coming back from our own little "winter break" and getting back to what we enjoy doing so much; sharing our Days at Disneyland with you!  The last couple of weeks have been good to us, and we've enjoyed our family time a whole lot, but we've missed writing on a regular basis and we're glad to get back to it.

Sideshow Shirts - That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we write a post, we like to play a little game.  We challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

Yesterday we had a rather unusual choice for our picture.  It's something we've seen many times before, but like so many other things we only have just started to take note of, we didn't pay much attention to it.  But it proved pretty popular yesterday and we had several guesses as to where exactly it was, and all of them were correct!  Apparently you guys are more observant than even we are sometimes!

This week's photo challenge spot can be found inside Disney California Adventure Park, in Paradise Pier, near the end of the Pier where all of the games and shops are, inside the Sideshow Shirts store:

Paradise Pier really is one of our favorite parts of Disney California Adventure Park; there are just so many great attractions, restaurants, and shops back there.  Always tons to see and do!  While we've never actually taken the time to play the boardwalk games ourselves, we have spent a lot of time wandering the shops looking for souvenirs or whatever, so we thought this would make a great photo for our game.  We had some amusing comments yesterday, so we think we hit the mark for sure!

The Disneyland Opera House - That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we write a post, we like to play a little game.  We challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

Yesterday was a very special day in Disney history, as we celebrated Walt Disney's birthday; what would have been his 110th.  As such, we used one of his portraits from Disneyland as our inspiration for yesterday's game.  It must have been harder than we had anticipated (though we were sure we had served up a juicy softball to our readers), because we only had a couple of guesses; but both were right!

This week's photo challenge spot can be found inside Disneyland Park, on Main Street U.S.A., just as you enter The Park inside the Disney Opera House, where the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln attraction resides:

This particular portrait of Walt Disney is arguably one of the most iconic, and certainly one of our favorites, ones ever taken of Walt Disney.  The image of Walt strolling through the gates of Sleeping Beauty Castle after Disneyland had been built is one that even when you're not actually looking at the portrait, you can still see it easily in your mind and know exactly what it looks like.  Every time we walk through the gates in this direction, into Fantasyland, we're reminded of this portrait and the knowledge that we're walking exactly, spot for spot, where Walt Disney himself did once upon a time; too amazing!

It's a very special day on today's "Where Are We?" post!  On December 5, 1901, Walter Elias "Walt" Disney was born and like any great person, the world would never be the same because of it.  We've long said that part of the reason that we enjoy Disneyland as much as we do is because of the history that still resides in The Park, and can be felt, each and every time you walk inside the gates and down Main Street U.S.A.  Disneyland was Walt's Park, both his muse and his work, and it stands as a testament to his ingenuity, passion, and ability to make his dreams a reality.  So in honor of his birthday, we're celebrating with a very special post, and picture, dedicated directly to the man himself.  It's not a difficult one, so we should have loads of correct guesses!  But for those who might not call Disneyland their home, we hope that by reading this post, if you ever do have the privilege of coming here for a visit, we hope that you make this one of your first stops.  It's a very special place inside of Disneyland, and one we very often.

Snow White's Scary Adventure; That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we write a post, we like to play a little game.  We challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

We had our largest number of correct guesses yet yesterday!  The great thing about yesterday's picture was that it is from a fairly popular attraction at Disneyland, so a lot of people knew exactly where it was, but just tricky enough to make people think about it and throw a few people off.  We enjoy it much more, by far, when we get a lot of correct guesses, but we also enjoy tripping people up just a little bit.  Call us a little "photo-sadistic", we guess.  But you guys did great!

That said, this week's photo challenge spot can be found in Disneyland Park, inside Fantasyland, while waiting inside the queue for your turn to ride the Snow White's Scary Adventures attraction:

Snow White's Scary Adventures is one of the more popular at Disneyland, and is also one of the "Disneyland Original" attractions, meaning it has been there since The Park opened in 1955.  The queue for the attraction is truly full of eye-candy, and matches the timbre of the ride perfectly.  There's tons to see and interact with, and lots of pictures opportunities.  This particular shot was snapped on a whim while we were riding some time ago, but as you can see, it served its purpose well!

The Disney Animation Building; That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

We had loads of correct guesses yesterday!  After a few weeks with very few correct shots at our pictures we decided to bring the difficulty down a little bit and see if we can get some more good guesses going.  And we have to say, it worked like a charm!  Lots more guesses and almost all of them correct!  It wasn't a really difficult picture if you spend any normal amount of time at the Disneyland Resort, and it was awesome to see so many people get so excited that they were finally able to answer one of our challenges.  Glad you guys all had such fun yesterday!

You can spot this well-known fairy tale adage just as you walk inside the entrance to the Disney Animation Building on your right.  There are even a few Hidden Mickeys inside the decoration surrounding the words for those with a very keen eye!

The Plaza Gardens Stage; That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

We had a few guesses yesterday, but once again only one that was correct!  The streak is still alive!  We plan on bring it down a little bit more to earth over the coming weeks and see if we can get some more good guesses going; the last few weeks have been pretty difficult apparently and our guesses have dropped off somewhat, but we promise to do our best to get everyone more involved!

Little Red Wagon Corn Dogs - That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

Although we tried to make this week's picture a little bite easier than last week's, it may have in fact been just as hard as the previous one, even though we tried to make it simpler to guess.  Once again, we only had a few guesses yesterday, and only one that was correct.  So thank goodness the streak is still alive!  So far each and every week we've had at least one correct guess.  That's a good thing!

This week's photo challenge can be found in Disneyland Park, on Main Street, USA, at the Little Red Wagon Corn Dogs stand:

The window we featured is on the backside of the wagon and can be easily seen while you're grabbing condiments to go along with your juicy, scrumptious Disneyland-famous corn dog!  We did try to give a little hint in the picture itself, as well.  If you look closely inside the window, you can see oodles of Disney potato chip bags as well as stacks of the little green baskets that they serve the corn dogs in.  In fact, the one guesser who did get it correct told us they knew it was the wagon (and food!) because they saw the chip bags and baskets.  Our hint worked!  We even circled exactly where they are so that the next time you're at the Little Red Wagon, you can check out the window for yourselves!

The Beast's Library - That's Where We Were!

Each and every Monday we challenge our readers to guess "Where Are We?" based on a random picture taken somewhere at the Disneyland Resort.  We thrive on challenging, so the pictures can be anywhere at The Resort: Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or Downtown Disney and the hotels.

We think that this week's may have shown itself to be a little too hardcore.  We've noticed as the weeks have gone on that when people don't really know where a spot is, they don't offer up guesses (for the most part).  And yesterday's picture offered up very few guesses in spite of being viewed many times.  We're happy to say though, that we did in fact get one correct guess so the streak of having at least one each week we've been doing this has been kept alive!

This week's particularly nasty photo challenge can be found in Disney California Adventure Park, in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, inside the Disney Animation Building, in the Sorcerer's Workshop area, inside The Beast's Library:

As you're entering the library, you can't help but notice the fireplace which adorns the front wall where The Beast's Rose is housed inside its glass case.  Bracketing either side of the fireplace are two columns, and at the head (top) of both columns you will find, well, these little "beasts".  We even circled exactly where they are so that the next time you're inside The Library, you can look them up for yourselves!
