Well, technically we haven't been to The Park this week, yet, but we plan on making a world-class Banzai-Run tonight, so that should count. Right?
Something tells us that a few hours out and about in The Park on a pleasant Sunday evening may be just what the Disney doctor ordered.
Last Week on Days In The Park:
On Monday we talked about some of the musical fare that can be sampled in all of the different "lands" around Disneyland Park
Tuesday, we posted some pictures from a recent Sunday evening in The Park, proving once again that we can pretend we're children with the best of them
For our "Almost" Wordless Wednesday, we spent a morning playing around inside Mickey's Toontown and talked a little bit about our podcasting endeavor
We gave you another "Karacters I Love Thursday" (KILT) post with some of our favorite pirates on Thursday
Friday, Mark took you along and introduced to one of his favorite things, The Park Churro
And finally, on Saturday, we served up another helping of "Adventures With Days In The Park" as we took a ride on one of our favorite coasters on the planet, California Screamin'
At the Resort:
With this week and its "Mardi Gras" celebration, "Family Fun Weekends" draws to a close at The Park. This weekend was the last of the three weekends celebrating "Mardi Gras" at The Park, which is featured (much like previous weeks) shows, a street party, interactive entertainment, and character meet and greets (featuring the Princess and the Frog gang as well as the standards). Although we unfortunately didn't make it to the weekends ourselves (well, Amy did and might write a bit about in the future, but Chad and Mark were shut out), we would just like to go on record right now as saying how much we enjoyed all of the weekends that we were able to attend. The Park did an amazing job hosting these and they were genuinely fun, entertaining, well put-together and organized. We're hoping for a lot more of these in the future!
We talked a little bit last week about the new attractions that will be opening up this summer in The Parks: Mickey's Soundsational Parade, Star Tours: The Adventure Continues and The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure. The blogosphere was ablaze on Tuesday morning when the Disney Parks Blog announced that the clam shells (responsible for carrying passengers through Ariel's attraction much like the "Doom Buggies" in The Haunted Mansion) had already arrived in Disney California Adventure and been installed in the ride. As always, they gave us fans a quick video to whet our appetites, and we're only too happy to share it here as well.
Also, Thursday marked a little bit of Park history as Indiana Jones Adventure turned 16 years old. We haven't been huge fans of "Indy" in the past, but recently we've been on a bender of sorts and have riding it quite frequently, so we wanted to wish it a happy birthday. Check out this little bit of Park history with a video of the Indiana Jones Adventure on its opening day. Maybe we should give it a ride for old times' sake while we're in The Park tonight?
Here At Days In The Park:
This week should be pretty big for us. We have an entirely new site set up for our first podcast, DaysInTheParkCast.com, and we recorded our first episode last Sunday afternoon. It should go live tomorrow morning.
Mark and Amy will be around this week with some posts of their own, and of course, there's always "Almost" Wordless Wednesdays and KILT to look forward to. We also plan on venturing into another one of our favorite places to hang out in The Park for our "Saturday Slow-Down". See if you can guess where!
