Random Ramblings Around The Park - "Almost" Wordless Wednesday

As long as people continue to seem to enjoy our completely random strollings, and the pictures that are the result, we're perfectly happy to continue giving them out to you guys!

These truly are a joy for us to do, and the fact of the matter is, we may see the same thing a hundred times at Disneyland, and still experience the same joy as when we saw it for the very first time.  There are just so many fantastic touches all over the place, it keeps our shutter-fingers very busy.  Here's hoping that you enjoy this week's as much as you always seem to.

We really MUST begin work on that DeLorean...

Sob!

"Gimme a 'T'!"

We were especially fond of "Wake up at 5am" (What?!?) and "Mousersize" (does anyone else remember that show?)

Mickey hooch?

Nom Nom (translation: "I want a burrito")

LOVED this one! Thought the penguin on top was only surpassed by the Mary Poppins wind-vane we plopped right on top as well!

Random Ramblings Around The Park - "Almost" Wordless Wednesday

The fun continues! We just can't get enough these days of our random strolls (and totally random picture taking with our phones), so we're letting the magic continue this week with another batch of goodies and fun we had last weekend while at the Disneyland Resort.  People keep letting us know that they really enjoy our "cell shots", so we're just going to keep doing them.  We hope that you like what we came up with this week.  Enjoy!

Mickey floating across the facade of the Star Trader

We keep making our way to The Harbour Galley for some reason. The curse of the Gorton's Fisherman?

Rocky's got nothing on Horace

Indeed

Mark's all tuckered out from all that walking!

Playing 'Kinect Disneyland Adventures' on the Xbox 360 while AT Disneyland. We're almost positive there's a paradox of some sort going on here...

Tonight the roles of Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall will be played by Mark Treiger and a chicken

"Put away that camera, peasant!"

This WEEK at DAYS in the Park (1/23 - 1/28)

We had a great week here at Days in the Park!  We spent an absolutely wonderful day at Disneyland this past weekend where we took a few hours just to roam around and take pictures with the kiddies.  It's not often as of late that we've been so busy while at Disneyland, though!  We have so many things in the hopper that we're working on that our entire 6-hour jaunt was dedicated solely to our "tasks at hand".  But we had a lot of fun doing it, got a lot of great material to share on our blog (and some other blogs, too!), and we can't wait to get it out there!  Plus, this week was a good one on the blog, as well!  It's been quite some time since we had almost a  full week's worth of articles at the ready, but we did this week!  We hope that everyone enjoyed reading along with us, but in case you missed anything at all:

Monday, Chad ran off to play with our friend Beth at "Pursuing the Magic", with an article for her "In Pursuit of Pirates" series and a look at Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean attraction

On Tuesday, with Monday already taken, we were back with one our favorite weekly segments, "Where Are We? - Magical Mystery Mondays (Tuesday edition!) where we challenge our readers to guess, where, at Disneyland a particular picture was taken.  This weeks picture?  Fowler's Landing in Frontierland/New Orleans Square/Critter Country!

In this week's "Almost" Wordless Wednesday, we continue our "random ramblings" throughout the Disneyland Resort with pictures of King Triton's Carousel of the Sea, the Paradise Pier boardwalk, Disneyland mailboxes, Beaker, and more!

On Thursday, we introduced our brand new weekly segment where we're taking your questions (which we find from your Google searches), and answering them here on our blog in their own article.  This week's conundrum?  Are FASTPASSes good after their posted times?

And finally, on Friday, we're talking about our first foray into the world of RunDisney, and the beginning of our pursuit to participate in the Disneyland Half-Marathon during the final weekend in August

Like we said earlier, we're really excited to have been able to produce almost a full week's worth of articles for our readers; it really has been quite some time since we've been able to do that.  Things just got so crazy over the holidays, and throw in a little flu/bronchitis, etc. for good measure and honestly, it's a wonder we published things as often as we did.  But we're back on schedule now, and enjoying every minute of it!

We have some really neat things coming up inside Disneyland that we're working on for the blog.  We talked about our RunDisney adventure this week (and will continue to do so often in the future), we're finally going to talk a little bit about the "One More Disney Day" program, we have another book review coming from Mark (and maybe even a giveaway too - teaser!), and of course, we'll have our regular articles ready to go like our "Magical Mystery Mondays", "Random Ramblings with Days in the Park", and our "Disneyland Tips & Tricks Thursdays" based on questions from your web searches.

If you haven't already, we definitely want to encourage you to listen to the latest episode of our podcast, the Days in the ParkCast which we plan on releasing sometime in the next couple of days.  We have our friend Beth (from "Pursuing the Magic" and "The Magical Blogorail") on the show and it was truly special for us.  She is one fantastic lady and we are so fortunate to have met her when we did and she means the world to us.  It really was a privilege to have her sit down with us (on the other side of the country, no less!) and talk some Disney Magic.  Plus, we hint at a pretty exciting bit during the show, and you just might be hearing a lot more from Beth in the future as well and with more regularity; have we said too much?  If you haven't taken the time to start listening to us yet, we'd love to have you give us a try!  You can subscribe to our show and listen to us in iTunes, or you can listen to our show on our "ParkCast" website: http://www.daysintheparkcast.com.  Give us a listen and let us know what you think!  We'd love to hear back from you!

We can't wait to see what the next few weeks, and months, will bring to "Days".  Thanks so much for stopping by!  It's going to be a great week, so come on back.  We love having you around!

Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle - Almost Wordless Wednesday

The theme for today's "Disney Wordless Wednesday" blog hop (hosted by "Focused on the Magic") is one that we can really get behind!  The question for today's theme is: "If you were to make a 2012 calendar, which one of your Disney pictures would you use for the cover?"  It's one that we've thought about before many times; which one of our Disney pictures is the Disney picture that we've taken so far?  Luckily for us, there's one that we think has easily stood above the rest out of all the ones that we've used around here.  It's featured on our button, and we've used it for our ParkCast logo as well.

We took this last year during the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, and it's not only one of our favorite Disney photos, but probably our favorite shots of Sleeping Beauty Castle thus far.  A great holiday photo and a great castle photo?  We have a winner!

This particular shot was actually taken before the Christmas lighting that took place that evening, but we loved the look of the snow on her, as well as our little owl friend who's prominent in the foreground.  We hope you will too!

Disney Character Statues Around The Hub - "Almost" Wordless Wednesday

Many thanks as always to Debs over at Focused on the Magic for hosting the weekly Disney Wordless Wednesday that Days in the Park loves to participate in.

We were pretty clueless about what to post for today's weekly "almost" wordless, but inspiration hit in the form of one of our friends on Twitter last night, KatiePirateTink, who posted a similar picture and reminded us we had these in reserves.  Thanks, Katie!

Way back in January, we spent a Sunday afternoon in Disneyland Park and there was a lot of construction going on at the time (you'll know doubt notice the walls in some of the photos).  We forget the exact circumstances that prompted us to be milling around The Partners Statue, but for whatever reason we were, and Chad just decided to start snapping photos of all the little bronze statues of the various Disney characters that surround the main statue.  They're pretty self-explanatory, so just enjoy taking a walk around the little circle with us, and we hope that you enjoy all of the little statues that are there.  We absolutely love them, and we're glad that we had them to share with you!

LOVE how it sharpened on the flowers behind and blurred Chip and Dale!
