Odds And Ends: Weekly Cap-Off (6/20-6/26)

Just one visit this week.  We're out at The Park today for Star Wars Day At Disneyland soaking up the sun and the fanboy goodness.  Summer is here and we're not spending nearly enough time at The Resort.  We're going to have to fix that!

Last Week on Days In The Park:

On Monday, Chad was invited to contribute to Disney Donna Kay's blog with a "Mentoring Mondays" article

Tuesday, we wrote about our recent excursion to the Walt Disney Studios for D23's "50 and Fabulous" screening of the classic Disney film, "The Parent Trap"

It was a ride on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh on Wednesday for our "Almost" Wordless Wednesday

We got back to our usual Vinylmation fun on Thursday with a brand new "Vinyl of the Week" post: Runaway Brain Mickey

And lastly, on Friday, we released the latest episode of our podcast; Episode 5 of the Days In The Parkcast

Here At Days In The Park:

Probably the biggest thing coming in the near future to Days In The Park is a whole new look!  Chad and Stephanie are hard at work with an entirely new redesign for the blog that we hope will be done this week!  It would be nice to start off next week with a "fresh slate", so to speak.  It's not to say we don't enjoy our blog now, but we're trying to make it more "our own" and more fitting for our personalities.  We think it's looking great so far and we can't wait to debut it!

As always, we have tons of articles and ideas in the works.  We need more days in the week!  Lots of new original articles coming, and we can't wait for you guys to read them.  We'll also have our usual weekly articles like "Magical Mystery Mondays", "Almost Wordless Wednesday", and "Vinylmation Domination" all ready to go.

We hope that you'll keep coming by and spending an occasional Day with us.  We love having you around!

We're Mentoring Today! Perish The Thought!

For those who have been following us since the beginning, you'll be able to back us up on this; we haven't been blogging for very long at all.  Everyone else, you'll just have to take our word for it; we haven't been blogging for very long at all.

In the few months we have though, we've come to realize just how "all over the place" this (blogging) can be.  Sometimes we'll come to the end of our day and take a peek at how many read us during the day and we'll fall in the floor because we can't believe people are actually reading us.  Other days we'll look and say, "Now that's more like it!", when hardly anyone has hit us up during the day.  It's all over the place and sometimes it can be a very encouraging thing to us, and other times it can be a very discouraging thing to us.  But we've kept plugging along and because of that we've been around to meet some pretty amazing people in the "Disney Community".  And really, that's what it's always been about for us, connecting with people who are in love with The Mouse as much as we are and enjoy the same things we do.  When you look at it from that perspective, we've been about as successful as we ever thought we'd be, and that's what counts.

One such fabulous person we've met recently is Donna who runs a blog called "Disney Donna Kay".  For the past several weeks, she's called on various others in The Community to interview for a segment she's called "Mentoring Mondays", aimed at offering advice to others who may just be beginning blogs, or maybe for those who have even been doing it a while.  She's had some amazing bloggers lined up over the past several weeks, and she recently approached me to ask if I would be willing to participate as well.  Given the fact that we haven't been doing this for very long, and our readership right now is, you could say, still in the growing stages, at first I didn't really feel like I'd be the best one to do it.  But the more I thought about, the more it seemed like the right thing to do.  It's why we blog after all; not only to share our own thoughts as much as we can, but also to help others in The Community in whatever way we can.  I consider it an honor to have been asked!
