"We fully accept the fact that Disney California Adventure is changing. In fact, we welcome it with open arms. We're extremely excited about all of the upgrades, updates and new attractions that are going to be assaulting our senses in the coming months."
We went on to talk about the removal of the letters from the front of The Park that spelled "California", which for many of us for so long have really symbolized Disney California Adventure and provided so many memories for us.
Yesterday was the first time since the removal that we've been out to The Parks, and while there was a brief moment of sadness to look and see the letters gone, we'd be lying if we said that brief moment wasn't replaced very quickly with a sense of urgency, and excitement. Getting all amped up about seeing a construction wall probably doesn't make sense to a lot of people, but for us it wasn't about the wall, but the Disney history represented all over the wall.
We spent a good ten minutes, at least, just wandering back and forth, exclaiming over all of the characters we haven't seen in quite some time with a look of glee in our eyes.
And not only the characters, but the concept art promising so many new things happening within The Park.
We figure it's time to move on. We'll miss the old Disney California Adventure, like we've said many times before, but we absolutely cannot wait to see what it will become. We think that bringing The Park back in line with its Disney history is a fantastic idea on the part of all of those involved, and now that's it's coming, we're going to be like a couple of kids waiting for Christmas morning until it does.
