Looking at the number above, we think that it might be time for an intervention. In fact, looking back, we're not sure we've ever had a week before where the number of days we went outnumbered the number of days that we didn't.
On Monday, Chad took his entire family out to The Park for his youngest son Lucas' 4th birthday. Wednesday, Chad made a Banzai Run back to The Park to buy a case of Vinylmation (more on that this week). On Friday, Chad and Mark went out to meet up with some friends and trade some Vinyl. And now we're here this afternoon with Amy and another friend to spend an entire day hanging out and enjoying ourselves. Though it might seem strange to some that we're here instead of at a Super Bowl party somewhere, it seemed like the perfect time to us. Most Sundays do.
Next weekend we'll be at another Park (which shall remain unnamed) so we'll just say we've been proactive about the whole thing and we've been making up time we haven't actually missed yet. That sounds good.
Last Week on Days In The Park:
On Monday we gave you an insider's look at a Days In The Park staple, the Banzai Run
Tuesday, we went back for another Family Fun Weekend and gave you a look at "Character Fan Days"
For our "Almost" Wordless Wednesday, we looked at a piece of Park history with Walt's Portrait
We added another KILT (Karacters I Love Thursday) character as we met The Seven Dwarfs on Thursday
Friday, Chad discussed his Park-nemesis Mickey's Fun Wheel and his plans to conquer said mechanical monster
And finally on Saturday we continued our tour of the Disney Animation Building with a trip into the Animation Academy
At the Resort:
As we've noted for the last few weeks, on weekends between January 14 and March 6, The Park has been/is hosting what it has dubbed "Family Fun Weekends"; five new and unique experiences meant to draw families into The Park. This weekend (and next) is "Happy Lunar New Year Festival" at The Park, which has featured (much like previous weeks) shows, art, crafts, and food (tea!) merchandise. Plus, there have been plenty of awesome photo opportunities with many of your favorite Park characters and the Mulan characters, Mulan and Mushu. "Happy Lunar New Year Festival" will continue into next week and will be held at the Festival Arena near Big Thunder Ranch BBQ in Frontierland from 10am to 5pm, Friday through Sunday. For more information on this and future weekends, check out the Disney Parks Blog.
Also, another "Pixar Pals" show debuted this week at Disney California Adventure. Following on the heels of what has been a successful show featuring The Incredibles, the Hollywood Backlot is now home to another show featuring the Monsters, Inc. gang, appropriately named "Monster Mayhem". Per the Disney Parks Blog, "Monster Mayhem" will be showing every Friday through Tuesday at 11am, Noon, and 1pm in front of the ElecTRONica stage (near the entrance) and in the Backlot near the Hyperion Theater.
Here's just a quick sneak peek:
Here At Days In The Park:
There's still quite a bit of catching up to do around here! We still haven't gotten around to writing about our Tweet-Up a couple of weeks ago, but it's coming this week. We promise!
We'll have our usual "Wordless Wednesday" and "KILT" posts ready to go, and Amy is working on another "Amy's Favorite Things" as we speak. People really seemed to enjoy her first so she's going to keep doing them for sure.
We'll also continue our foray into the Disney Animation Building for our "Saturday Slow-Down", hopefully have a "Family Fun Days - Happy Lunar New Year Festival" write up, and more.
