The white zone is for the loading and unloading of scaredy-cats only... |
Anyone who's followed our site at all over the past few days will no doubt know that Chad has been waging a one-man battle (with the support of three others) against Mickey's Fun Wheel at Disney California Adventure.
Without re-posting the entire article (you can check it out here), Chad has been scared of The Wheel for years (dating back to when it was the Sun Wheel). A perpetual fear of heights combined with a swinging gondola his first time up led to a roughly five year drought where, when The Wheel would come into view, he would hurry by as quickly as possible.

Is very, very tall... |
But as we went through last week, due to a certain confluence of events (namely being teased repeatedly over the past months), he decided to once again give it whirl (pun completely intended); which bring us to the present day (which was in fact Sunday).
We won't bore you with all of the details in written form, but we took lots of pictures (and video!) to detail the entire miraculous and heroic adventure, which we hope you'll enjoy. We'll end the written portion of the post by saying The Wheel is now a staple ride of Days In The Park, and we are already looking forward to the next time we ride. Ain't no thang...

Is that an airsickness bag in Chad's hand?
Yup! LOL :)
Loved watching the video, it made me wish I was there too. Glad you survived and conquered your fear.
Thanks! :) It was a lot of fun, and good subject material for our first attempt at integrating video, we though.
We should all do it together sometime. :)
I would just like the record to state that I was not pretending to be okay as my photo caption implies. I was okay actually. Well, up until the wheel started moving anyways. :)
Who are you kidding? :)
You are a far braver soul than I! Roller coasters are fine with me, but you couldn't drag me onto a Ferris Wheel! LOL :D
Believe me, I was petrified going in. And then I'm not really sure what happened, but I LOVED it. Can't wait to go again. :)
Chad, I'm glad you conquered the Wheel! Whenever we get out there if the wheel is still up, You'll have to go on with me, My family won't do anything like that!
Thanks, Bruce! Be happy to, man. I'm already jonesin' to ride it again.
Pretty sure it'll still be around for a while. So come on! :)
