Visits to the Park this week: 1
Last week we wrote about the rain all around The Parks and how prevalent it had been in the last weeks, and that theme certainly carried over into this week; it was a very wet and rainy week in Southern California. We refuse to take responsibility for that, though! The crowds were lighter during the week, and from what we've heard it was a wonderful week to be out and about, albeit a slightly wet one. All the same, we won't be sad to see our nice, dry evenings in The Park come back from time to time.
We did spend some time in The Park on Wednesday doing some final Christmas shopping for the year, and had a great time! Both Parks have quickly become some of our favorite shopping grounds and if Stephanie's reaction was any indication, Chad did well! We even did really well in the Vinylmation department; we'll have to write about that one day.
Did you get a chance to see the Disney Parks Holiday Parade on ABC Christmas morning? It's probably going to become a new family tradition for us (the kids loved it) and next year we hope to be at The Park when they film it, so we can see ourselves on TV Christmas Day!
Last Week on Days In The Park:
On Monday we announced our new partnership with Cosmic Reid's Starlight Cafe and Magical Mouse Radio
Tuesday, we gave you Days In The Parks' favorite five Animatronics inside The Park
For our "Almost" Wordless Wednesday, we looked at the replica Flynn's Arcade inside of Disney California Adventure
We took a look inside (and outside!) "it's a small world" Holiday on Thursday
Friday, we took you along with us and our friends on the Holiday Time at Disneyland Tour
And finally on Saturday we gave you one last batch of Holiday pictures from The Park to tide you over until next year. Merry Christmas!
At the Resort:
The next week looks to be a busy one out there, as people will more than likely use the opportunity of the new-found sunshine and vacation from school to spend a few days enjoying The Parks. There's nothing major coming up (although next week will see the California Adventure letters fall -- can you tell we're a bit sad about this?) other than the New Year's celebrations taking place at both Parks.
Both Parks will have many ways to celebrate the coming of the New Year, including bonus shows (extra Fantasmic! and World of Color shows), special New Year's Eve fireworks (and a "fountain and fireworks" show in Disney California Adventure), DJs and music all around The Parks, and much, much more (can you say party hats and noise-makers, anyone?). You can find out more about some of the goings-on on the Disney Parks Blog.
Here at Days In The Park:
As much as it pains us to say it, there won't be much going on this week. We're simply going to be too busy with other engagements to be able to give our writing, and the website, the time that we think you deserve. We suppose that being out of town for the first three days of the week, The Park on Thursday, and working the Rose Parade on Saturday morning might have something to do with that. But even still, we don't like it!
We suppose, though, that if we do have to take the time off, it's probably the best time to do it. We may find some time to do some very brief stuff, but we won't do just anything, so if nothing new shows up, don't be too surprised.
All that said, we've truly loved doing this the last three months (yes, we're really only that old!). We think we've improved mightily since we started, and we can't wait to get a new year started with all new posts, pictures, ideas and general Park frivolity.
We're truly grateful for all of you that read us. And we know we are being read. Our little statistics program tells us so. As the New Year starts we hope we can keep the momentum we having going, pick up new readers, meet even more of you and spend time with you in The Parks, and most of all, continue to have fun doing it.
Thanks for reading us! See ya in 2011!
