Visits to The Park this week: 2
This week was crazy! Between the Thanksgiving Holiday, a quick vacation to Las Vegas, and an impromptu bout of stomach flu, it's a miracle we got anything new up at all! But we did, and we're pretty proud of what we got up (save Monday, where a drive across the desert halted production).
We really enjoyed a couple of posts this week, and wanted to draw your attention to them, especially.
First, on Friday, we posted an article about alternative parking at The Resort at the Toy Story Parking Lot. One of our friends Amy (who we met on Twitter) came on board to write that for us, and we look forward to more from her (hopefully!) in the future. Ironically, her first time parking in the Toy Story Lot was the same day we parked there for the first time. We had already been planning on writing something about it, but when we found out she was interested in writing something about it for herself, she graciously accepted our invitation to plant her piece here. We think it turned out great!
Second, even though it might not seem like much, we were ecstatic about Stephanie's pictures from Disney's Contemporary Resort that we posted yesterday. Chad and his family have a vacation to Walt Disney World planned for 2012 and the pictures just got us that much more excited for it! And they're really quite fun as well. We enjoy seeing pictures from anywhere around The Parks, and we hope you do, too!
Last Week on Days In The Park:
On Monday, we were in Las Vegas. *gasp!* No posting. Sorry!
Tuesday, we continued our journey into the Holiday season at The Parks with some of our photos from Santa's Reindeer Round-Up in Big Thunder Ranch
For our "Almost" Wordless Wednesday, we gave you a look at a certain parrot in The Park who rarely shuts up
We spent Thanksgiving with our family on Thursday
Friday, we gave you an alternative to parking in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure when you're heading out to The Park
And finally on Saturday we gave you some photos we recently took when one of us was lucky enough to spend a couple of days at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Orlando
At The Resort:
Christmas is in full swing at The Parks. Of particular interest is that next weekend, December 4th and 5th, will see the Disneyland Candlelight Processional taking place.
It's an annual event on Main Street featuring a celebrity reciting the biblical Christmas story, backed up by a choir and instrumentation playing many of our favorite Christmas carols. It's an absolutely gorgeous ceremony! It takes place twice a day, from what we understand at 5:30pm and again at 8pm.
The show can be seen from anywhere around the Main Street Station area (VIP seating is directly in front, but you can stand and watch from anywhere around) and it can be heard from as far down as Sleeping Beauty Castle. If you've never seen this before, it is a must-see, and we're certainly going to do everything in our power to get out there and see it.
Here at Days In The Park:
As always we have a lot of ideas that we're currently working on. For this week, we're going to try to get some more Christmas/Holiday pictures up from another area of The Park (New Orleans Square?). We also have another couple of "DitP Perspectives" we're working on, and we plan on eating at The Plaza Inn today, so we'll be writing on that in the near future, as well. And as always tips, tricks, opinions and helpful information will hopefully abound.
We're also working on a new segment entitled "Pathing Around The Park" which we're really excited about. We won't give too much away just yet, but we pride ourselves here at knowing the best ways (not necessarily the fastest) around certain places in The Park, and we'd like to share those with you; maybe show you interesting sights to see along the way, as well, you never know.
We're also especially proud to say that this afternoon we will finally be recording our podcast with "Tales From The Mouse House". We're pretty nervous, but excited about it! Hopefully we'll be a good interview, but we're just going to roll with and have some fun. Al & Joyce are fantastic people, and we're honored that they're the first ones that asked us to do something like this. The show should be up sometime in early December, and we'll be sure to both give you a link to their site so you can listen there if you wish as well as posting it here on our site. We can't wait to see how it turns out!
Until next week faith, trust and a little pixie dust...
